Tour Greens worked to convert Balsam Mountain Preserve's driving range into the Palmer Practice Park - an innovative practice facility featuring Tour Greens bent grass tee boxes, target fairways, target greens and a short game complex featuring a Tour Greens 3,500 square-foot chipping/pitching green complete with practice bunker and fairway approach area.
The unique concept involved re-purposing the existing driving range into this new practice facility. The Tour Greens design team worked with an well known outside golf design company to help bring their ideas to life.
Armed with the innovative design, our experienced installation team then assisted the design company with many aspects of the project's development.
Low maintenance target fairways and greens allow the facility to be used year round and at all hours of the day and night.
Built in close proximity to the Balsam Mountain Preserve's Cottages at Doubletop Village, the practice facility's cutting-edge design represents the evolving nature of golf today. It provides a more casual, brisker playing alternative to Balsam’s full-length Signature 18-hole course and opens the game to more community members with opportunities for night play, junior golf, and golf clinics.
